Dhaka City College was funded in 1957 with a commitment to maintaining high academic standards and contributing in the building of an educated nation fit to address the challenges ahead. Among other specialized programs in this college, BBA program under National University is one of the most successful programs. In the journey towards its cherished desire of being 'A Center of Excellence', Dhaka City College has taken a big stride in the field of higher education in the recent years. The introduction of BBA program under National University in the academic session 1998-99 in this college is yet another step further to the goal of institution.

The Process of globalization has transformed the word into a global village. In recent time there has been a significant growth in the busines sector worldwide because of the development in the field of information technology and free-market economy. The new millennium has started seeing a rapid pace of growth in trade and industry.

In the coming decades, business leaders must be able to address the challenges of globally competitive free market economy with their diverse knowledge, talent and creativity. Taking the emergent needs of the days into consideration, Dhaka City College introduced BBA program, a 4-year graduate degree in the academic year 1998-1999 under the syllabus and curriculum of National University.

The Primary objective of this program is to develop knowledge and skills that will enable the students to undertake the responsibility of the young executives in business organization successfully. The 4-year BBA program is divided into eight semester of at least 18 weeks duration. Semester final examinations are conducted by National University under its curriculum at the end of each semester. the medium of instruction of the program is English. The combination of courses in the program is multi-disciplinary with specialization in major areas like Accounting, Finance, Management and Marketing.

Both male and female students of any one of the following categories are eligible to apply.

1. Students who have passed HSC or equivalent examinations are eligible to apply for admission in BBA(Professional) program provided that they have minimum GAP 2.50 in both HSC and SCC examinations.
2. Students passing the A level examinations may also apply for admission provided that they have minimum 2 'B' grades and passed in 2 subjects and for 'O' level may also apply for admission provided that they have 3 'B' grades and passed in 4 subjects.
3. Students from business studies, Humanities and Science groups must have grade point 3.00 in any subjects: Accounting/Business Organization and Management/ Finance and Banking and Insurance/ Production Management and Marketing/Economics/Statistics/Higher Mathematics.
4. A Merit list will be Prepared by the National University following the BBA(Professional) Admission Guideline. The merit list will be prepared on the basis of a total of 100 marks taking 60% marks from HSC and 40% marks from SSC results without 4th subjects(s).
